Your privacy is important. Make Lemonade (“we",” “us",” and “our”) are committed to protecting your privacy and information.

The purpose of this Privacy Policy is to inform you about what Personal Information is collected, and how it’s used and shared when you visit or make a purchase from www.makelemonade.ca (the “Site”). It also outlines the steps we take to keep your Personal Information confidential.

PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT

Your Personal Information is personally-identifiable information such as your name, addresses, and/or payment information.

When we talk about Personal Information in this Privacy Policy, we’re talking about two types: Order Information and Device Information.

Order Information

When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, email address, billing address, shipping address, payment information (e.g., credit card information), and phone number. We refer to this information as “Order Information.”

We use the Order Information that we collect to fulfill any of your orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations). Additionally, we use your Order Information to:

  • Communicate with you;

  • Screen orders for potential risk or fraud; and

  • Provide you with information or advertising related to our products or services (in accordance with the preferences you have shared with us).

Device Information

When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device or computer, including information about your web browser, Internet service provider, IP address, and some of the cookies that are already installed on your device or computer. As you browse the Site, Make Lemonade collects information about which websites or search terms refer you to the Site, and how you interact with pages on Site. This automatically-collected information is referred to “Device Information.”

We collect Device Information using the following technologies:

Cookies

“Cookies” are small data files that are sent from a website and stored on your device or computer. Most web browsers are set up to access cookies. Cookies, by themselves, can’t be used to disclose your individual identity. A cookie identifies your browser to our computer server when you visit our Site, but not you. This information is used to improve your user experience and evaluate the success of our marketing campaigns. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit: www.allaboutcookies.org.

Log Files

“Log files” are automatically created and maintained by a web server. Log files track actions on the Site and collect data, including your browser type, Internet service provider, IP address, referral source(s), and date and time stamps.

Web Beacons

“Web beacons,” “tags,” and/or “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site. For example, to assess the effectiveness of our promotional emails, we may attach a web beacon to the message that provides us with confirmation when you open the email. This only occurs if your device or computer supports such technology.

PROTECTING YOUR INFORMATION

The Internet is, by its nature, inherently open and subject to interception of information. We can’t guarantee that the information you provide to us over the Internet won’t be intercepted by third-parties while it’s being communicated by means that are outside of our control.

Security measures such as the use of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology have been implemented to enhance the protection of your Personal Information against loss or theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. SSL-enabled websites like our Site employ a security protocol to ensure that your Personal Information is only transferred between your device or computer and us, the intended recipient.

There are several places throughout our Site that may link you to other websites that don’t operate under our Privacy Policy. When you click through to these websites, our Privacy Policy no longer applies. We recommend that you examine the privacy statements of any third-party websites you visit to understand their procedures for collecting, using, and disclosing your Personal Information. We make no promises, warranties, or representations about these third-party websites and bear no liability whatsoever for your use of them.
