Floral art crafted in the heart of Toronto.

MEET THE MAKER

Hello sunshine! I’m Rachel, a motorcycle ridin’, community-buildin’, florist in Toronto.💐

Like a lot of small business owners, my journey isn’t linear, but what makes me stand out is my eternal optimism and passion for colour. From the opening (and closing) of my coworking office, crafting email magic, to whipping up unique floral creations, good design is at the heart of everything I do.

I had an epiphany in the midst of the pandemic: my dreams were bigger than the work I was doing on my laptop, so I went after ‘em.

With a degree in fine arts, a sharp set of snips, and an eye for design, I jumped at the opportunity to go to Toronto Flower School to scratch an itch. The itch became a full-on career switch and I’m so glad I made it.

From hauling tonnes of greens for milestone celebrations, scaling 15ft ladders to craft hanging installs for brand launches, to wrapping bouquets for your kitchen table, I love every moment of making flower magic.

I don’t always pose with flowers, but when I do…I make sure I’m wearing a leopard jumpsuit. Photo by Kate Dockeray.

Created with care

With every floral order I design, I do it with the environment in mind.

All product that comes into Make Lemonade’s Toronto studio is recycled, green binned, and disposed of properly. When you hire me for your event or installation, I won’t be using floral foam. Instead, I rely on the most eco option available to give you the most stunning design, without a harmful impact on the environment. 💛

But, it’s not a secret the floral industry isn’t perfect…and neither am I. I’m always learning as I go, so my methods will only get smarter and kinder to the earth as time goes on. Have an eco tip for me? Drop me a note!
